-AS FINGERS STILL POINT AT HER HUSBAND HABEEB CHIDIAC
-By Kenneth Uwadi(Lagos)
More facts have emerged as to the likely identities of the masterminds behind the murder of popular Igbo Society Lady, Mrs. Patricia Obiageli Chidiac. The deceased was brutally gunned down inside the Sacred Heart Catholic Church ,Creek Road,Apapa,Lagos by two gun men who took off on a bike that was waiting outside the Church premises as soon as their evil mission was accomplished. When the news of the tragic death of this Top Igbo Society Lady broke within the Lagos society cycle where she was well known, it was with shock that many of her friends took the news, especially with the gory nature she was killed.
Madam Patricia on Sunday May 3rd, 2009,had gone to worship at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church .She had arrived at the Church in her bullet proof Jeep which she acquired not too long ago .While She, along with other worshippers were still trying to settle down for the morning service, two armed men drew out their guns inside the church, fired into the air and headed for Madam Obiageli and fired several bullets into her stomach right before the large congregation, leading to a pandemonium before they made away with their waiting bike.
As if Mrs. Patricia had a premonition of threats to her life, family sources revealed to City Weekly News how she acquired two bullet proof SUVs about three months ago, perhaps to further fortify her personal security against possible attack on her. Mrs.Patricia Obiageli, born in 1963,hails from Umuigwe-Eziama in Ikeduru Local Government Area of Imo State, Nigeria but married to a Lebanese businessman based in Lagos, Mr Habeeb Chidiac. Mr. Habeeb runs a business conglomerate named Paache Group of companies. Our source confirmed that Mrs Patricia was having problems with her Lebanese husband Habeeb.
Many are alleging that Habeeb may be responsible for the assassination of the Imo state born Madam Obiageli with whom she has 4 children, two boys and two girls. Those posing this theory are of the opinion that it has to be him as her gory killing happened barely two days after he departed the shores of Nigeria with their kids. Our source revealed that the couple’s marriage had been strained and divorce was on the way. The bickering between husband and wife, we gathered was centred on business related issue and abuse of trust. Some time ago, when a Vessel was declared missing at the Apapa Wharf, a certain Lebanese who is a relation of Habeeb was found culpable by the Nigerian Navy, he bolted away leaving his accomplice to rot in detention. This issue has been a source of worry in the Habeeb family. Mrs Patricia we gathered was fully aware of the threat to her life which prompted her to purchase the bullet proof Jeeps and employed the service of private body guards. She also according to our source, paid the police in Apapa to mount surveillance on her home.
Meanwhile Police authorities in Lagos, said they had begun investigation into the murder of this business woman who was shot dead in the premises of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, in Liverpool area of Apapa by unknown gunmen. The command described the death of the late Mrs Patricia Obigeli Chidiac as a clear case of murder and not that of robbery and assured that the unknown gunmen would at the end of the investigation be trailed and brought to book.
The victime was returned to mother earth in Lebanon on 14th may 2009.She was buried at about 330pm local time in Beirut. Our source confirmed that Patricia’s corpse was flown to Lebanon aboard Middle East Airline at about 2pm on Wednesday .Archbishop Bechara Raaey of Virgin Mary Church in Meziara, Habeeb’s home time in Lebanon held a short prayer session for the deceased before departure. A huge crowd of mourners led by Habeeb Chidiac received the body at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut.
This is another murder case that Nigerians will really want the Nigerian Police to resolve.

GOD , NEVER SLEEPS-
CAIRO (Reuters) – A billionaire Egyptian businessman and politician was sentenced to death Thursday for ordering the murder of a Lebanese pop star reported to have been his lover in a gory case that captivated the Arab world.
The verdict was greeted with shock in Egypt where members of the elite are generally regarded as being above the law and where reporting of the trial was banned.
Hesham Talaat Moustafa was found to have paid a hit man $2 million to stab Suzanne Tamim, 30, to death at her luxury apartment in Dubai. Media reports labeled the attack an act of revenge after she ended their relationship.
Chaos broke out in the courtroom after sentence was passed. Moustafa’s supporters scuffled with journalists who tried to catch a glimpse of the condemned man as he stood in a metal cage dressed in a white jumpsuit.
Samir al-Shishtawi, a lawyer for the defense, called the ruling “severe” and said he expected it would be overturned on appeal. It still faces review by a top Muslim religious figure.
“It is a ruling aimed at deterrence more than at implementing the law,” Shishtawi said.
Tamim rose to fame after winning the top prize in a television show in 1996. Friends celebrated the verdict against a powerful figure from Egypt’s ruling party who was stripped of his parliamentary immunity so he could face trial.
“I knew the girl since she was a child and she used to play with my kids, so I am satisfied with the verdict. God have mercy on her. She did a lot of charity work,” Tamim’s former neighbor Sami al-Labban told Reuters television in Lebanon.
TRICKED INTO OPENING DOOR
Security man Muhsen el-Sukkari, accused of carrying out the crime at Moustafa’s behest, was also condemned to death. He was reported to have tricked the singer into opening her door in Dubai by posing as a representative of the building’s owners.
He then stabbed her with a knife, the indictment said.
Sukkari later dumped bloody clothes near the crime scene, leaving DNA, prosecutors said. Evidence also included phone calls between Moustafa, who was married and born in 1959, and Sukkari.
Media reports said Sukkari had worked in security in a hotel Moustafa’s company had built.
The verdict came as a shock to the Egyptian market where shares in the Talaat Moustafa Group that Moustafa formerly chaired plunged. It is Egypt’s largest listed real estate developer by market value.
There has been loud grumbling in Egypt about public accountability following a 2006 ferry disaster, a fire in parliament and a deadly rockslide in a Cairo shantytown.
“I think this regime would want to disassociate (itself from) someone who goes out in a very conspicuous way and does something that society condemns,” said Walid Kazziha, a political science professor at the American University in Cairo.
But the ruling was not a sign of a broader government push for public accountability, he said, and he doubted the sentence would be carried out. The court will reconvene on June 25 after a review by the senior religious authority.
Moustafa handed over the chairmanship of the Talaat Moustafa Group to his brother Tarek after being charged.

These lebanese immigrants are causing a lot of havoc in nigeria. The Nigerian government should do something about these immigrants bcos most of them come into Nigeria thru illegal means. The Igbo speaking community should also take a drastic step to make sure that those behind these wicked act are brought to book.

Those we love don’t go away,
They walk beside us everyday,
Unseen, unheard, but always near,
Still loved, still missed and very dear.”
“Death leaves a heartache
No one can heal;
Love leaves a memory
No one can steal.”
What moves through us is a silence, a quiet sadness, a longing for one more day, one more word, one more touch, we may not understand why you left this earth so soon, or why you left before we were ready to say good-bye, but little by little, we begin to remember not just that you died, but that you lived. And that your life gave us memories too beautiful to forget.
But whosoever that have a hand in the death of this woman, the husband of all widows in Eziama ikeduru, the mother of all orphans,God sents to the poor in that village, will NEVER EVER GO ON PUNISH. It can only take some time, but the God of God of the widows and the orphans must avenge for her death.
