The ongoing crisis in Rivers State Politics has made many politicians in the state to pitch different tent with different camps. While some politicians are in support of Gov. Ameachi, some have joined the anti-Amaechi camp led by his former ally, Nyesom Wike.
Gov. Amaechi’s supporters are his deputy Engineer Tele Ikuru, Senator Magnus Nge Abe, Hon. Emmanuel Chinda, Hon Demua Demua (Chairman Gokana Local Government), Edward Pepple (Chairman Bonny LG) Hon. Dakuku Peterside, Hon. Azubike Chikere Wangjoko.
Others are the former Rivers PDP chairman, Chief G.U. Ake that was removed some weeks back, Mrs. Alice Lawrence –Nemi, the commissioner for Education, Dr. Ipalibo Harry, Hon. Okey C. Amadi, Dr. Nyema E. Weli, Dr. Chamberlain Peterside, Dr Tamunoiyorairi Parker, Mr. Marshal Stanley-Uwon, Mrs. Ibim Semenitari (commissioner for information), Mr. Ezemonye Ezekiel-Amadi, Mr. Samuel Eyiba. Hon. Augustine Wokocha, Mr. Joe Philip Poroma, Hon. Fred Igwe, Barr. Dickson O. Umunakwe, Hon. George Tolofari, Dr. Tammy W. Danagogo, Mrs. Patricia Simon-Hart, Mrs. Joeba West, Hon. Victor T. Giadom, Sir Owunwene E. Wonodi, Barr. Samuel T. Long John, Mr. George D.N Feyi, Sir Tony C. Okocha, Engr. Goodlife Nmekini, Mr. Franklyn Nlerum, Dame Aleruchi Cookey-Gam are also Governor Amaechi’s loyalists.
His foot soldiers who are also solidly behind him are Godstime Orlukwu, Henry Haliday, Lucky Worluh, Sani Okiri, Emenike Ebete, Chris Oyirinda, Bright Gogo, Solu Amachree, Nji Ngofa, Josiah Olu, Lambert Dele, Dave Okumba, Welendu Amadi, Sunny Obowu, Maclean Uranta, Atonyesia Peterside, Vicky Nyeche, Peter Emejuru, Victor Amadi, Alex Wele, Innocent Osi, Achi Wobodo, and Gideon Demua.
Akarolo Chimbiko, Mayor of Port Harcourt and Awori Miller, the Chairman of Ahoada West L.G.A. are also on the side of Ameachi. Dr. Dawari George, member representing the Akuku-Toru/Asari-Toru Federal Constituency, House of Representatives is equally supporting the Governor. The Executive Chairman of Delga, Hon. Ibigoni Daddy Pokima, Hon. Oji Nyimenuate Ngofa, the chairman of Eleme Local Government and that caretaker Chairman of Obio/Okpor L.G.A. , Hon. Chikordi David Dike are also in Amaechi’s camp.

While the anti-Amaechi camp is led by, Minister for state Education Nyesom Wike. Politicians like former Local Government Chairman of Onelga and the current chairman of Rivers State PDP, Felix Obuah and former Deputy of the States House Of Representatives Austin Okpara are in this anti-Amaechi camp. Also five out of the 32 members of the State House of Assembly are anti- Amaechi. The pro-Wike lawmakers are: Michael Chinda (Obio/Akpor II Constituency), Kelechi Godspower Nwogu (Omuma), Evans Bipi (Ogu/Bolo), Martins Amaewhule (Obio/Akpor I) and Victor Ihunwo (Port Harcourt III), while the other 27 lawmaker in the house are supporting the embattled governor.
